I would like to introduce you to an amazing friend of mine. This is Rhian (pictured with another dear friend, Rick). She was the maid of honour at my wedding just under a year ago, and I feel very honoured that she would be there to stand up for us and support our marriage. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing she is. They say you can't pick your family, but I have. She is my family. We're not related by love, but theres a much stronger bond shared between those that meet her and have the pleasure and honour to get to truly know her. She has touched my life. I love her so much, and I will forever stand up for her, and help her as much as I can. This little blog post is nothing, but I AM writing this for a reason.
I want you to do me a favour. I want you to go read her blog, and possibly donate to her if you can. You see, Rhi has lupus, which is such a misunderstood condition. If you're not sure what lupus is, let me tell you... it is pain. Basically your immune system malfunctions and can't differentiate between your own body tissues, and germs/viruses/bacteria, so as a result, your body begins to attack itself.
She used to be a beautiful dancer, and now she deals with this shit, day in and day out. If you ask me what is strength? This is strength. And courage. And beauty. And grace. She is in pain, but fights for herself, for her life. I can hardly imagine what she goes through on a day to day basis, but for those of us who can't imagine it... she writes in her blog to educate us.
Please go read it. Donate if you can. If you can't, click on some ads on the side. Thats all I'm asking of anybody reading this.
Thank you.
